I am planning to travel abroad for a year or so......how can I pay my mortgage while I'm gone??

I currently own a home. I don't want to sell it before I travel and even if I did, I don't have time to get it done as I plan to leave in about 8 weeks. I have a roommate who lives with me so I have to find some way to continue paying half of the mortgage while I am gone. PLEEEAAASE help with any ideas.I am planning to travel abroad for a year or so......how can I pay my mortgage while I'm gone??
You should definitely plan on working abroad especially if you are going to the UK or the EU.If you have to work under the table so be it, money is money and you'll make twice as much in Europe. IRS can wait!

Either send the money directly to your bank /mortgage lender after your roommate deposits his share into your account or set up a monthly payment plan with someone you trust (apart from your roommate always better to have a third entity involved).

If that's not viable then rent out you part of the house to someone and have them sign a year lease.

Does your bank offer an automatic or electronic bill pay option? You can set up your mortgage company for that and then submit payment online from where ever.
Arrange with your bank to make automatic payments. No sweat.
Simple way.

Pay everything from anywhere using Internet.

Open bill payment of your bank via web site.

Setup mortgage account or some others.

Pay every month what you want but if payment will less than

requires you will pay fee.

Good luck!
Talk to your bank and set up a standing order, that way the bank will pay it automatically on the same date each month. (Assuming there is enough in your account). If there isn't you get nasty letters and your credit rating goes through the floor.
