my sister is on goverment disablity and we have been told she is not allowed to own a home then if that can be overcome and how? Then she needs 13000.00 to get the mortgage because she would need to pay off her existing debt. More than likely because her mortgage payment will be more than they are comfortable with to take out of her check.
She CAN own a home on disability, just not multiple homes.

have her try low income housing in your state. or try FMHA or a rural home development subsidary. goodluck and best wishes!
If she is on disability, she can't work. It means the only income she has is the disability check. Is that why she can't get mortgage? Why should the bank give her extra money with the mortgage? ?
